Step 1: To program your Honeywell thermostat, first you will hit the “set clock/day schedule” button.

First you have to set your clock, usually if you press and hold the upward arrow button the time will skip faster. Keep in mind that the Pm and Am does after, so set the time accordingly.

Step 2: After setting your time you need to set the day 0n which your programming the thermostat. You can do that by hitting the “Set Day” button.

Step 3: Once you’re finished setting up your time and day. Hit the “Set Schedule” button.

FYI: Most thermostats, instead of having individual buttons for every action, they will just have a Next button. So you would set the time, press next, set the date, press next and so on.

Side Note: All programmable thermostats have 4 periods. 1. Wake up period, 2. Go to Work period, 3. Come back from Work period, and 4. Go to Sleep period. So you can set your thermostat to switch temperatures 4 times a day.

For example purposes, let’s say we’re programming the cooling for the wake up period. Let’s say you wake up at 6:30Am for work so you set the time and then hit next and set the cool setting. Change the temperature according to your preference.

Tip: Always make sure to set the Am Pm right because it’s very easy to miss. So in this case you want to keep scrolling until you get to Am.

Hit Next, now you’ll move to go to work period and program the thermostat the same way you did for the wake up period. You want to set your time and the desired temperature for when you wake up.

Hit Next, now you’ll move to the return to home period set the time and desired temperature for the respective period.

Hit Next, then you’ll move to go to sleep period, set the time and desired temperature for when you go to sleep.

Hit Next, now you will move on to the next day. Repeat the same process for the whole week. Once you’re done setting the schedule up, hit Done and now your thermostat is successfully programmed.

Note: Most programmable thermostats will have a set day schedule button, a fan setting (there’s only two fan settings.)

1. Auto (the fan will turn on/off with the furnace), 2. On (the fan will be running 24/7), the system button (which is usually just 3 settings, i.e.; Off, Cool & Heat)

And if you have a thermostat for a heat pump, you’ll also have an emergency heat (EM Heat) button.
